Pennsylvania's Entry into Multi-State Poker Boosts US Online Revenue
The US online poker market experienced a remarkable surge in revenue following Pennsylvania's entry into multi-state poker. According to recent figures, the regulated US online poker market grew by over 20% year-over-year in May 2025. This growth is attributed to the combined efforts of New Jersey and Pennsylvania, which generated $5.4 million in May 2025, marking a 22% increase from the same period last year.
New Jersey saw the most significant growth, with a 23% increase to $2.65 million, its best performance since February 2021. Pennsylvania also achieved its highest revenue and growth in over three years, with a 21% year-over-year increase to $2.75 million. This turnaround is particularly notable for Pennsylvania, which had been struggling with declining numbers before shared liquidity was introduced.
The impact of shared liquidity is evident in the revenue breakdown by operator networks. WSOP Online saw the most dramatic transformation, with a 50% year-over-year jump to over $1.5 million in revenue. BetMGM Poker network, which includes BetMGM Poker, Borgata Poker, and PartyPoker, achieved approximately $2.1 million in revenue with nearly 50% year-over-year growth, surpassing PokerStars for the first time. PokerStars, however, faced a 23% decline in combined New Jersey and Pennsylvania revenue to just $1.6 million, its lowest month on record for Pennsylvania and weakest performance for New Jersey since February 2022. This decline is likely due to PokerStars' decision to postpone its Pennsylvania shared liquidity launch, possibly due to a migration under the FanDuel brand.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
