Pavel Pleshuv Reflects on Historic WSOP Win and Its Impact on Moldovan Poker
Pavel Pleshuv made history by becoming the first player from Moldova to win a WSOP bracelet. This achievement has sparked interest in the poker community, both within Moldova and internationally. Pleshuv, who won the Millionaire Maker tournament, reflected on his victory and its potential impact on the popularity of poker in his home country.
Pleshuv mentioned that while the win might not significantly boost the popularity of poker in Moldova, it could inspire others to take up the game. He noted that the relatively low cost of living in Moldova makes it an attractive option for aspiring poker players, unlike in countries with higher living costs such as Switzerland.
During the WSOP, Pleshuv and his wife stayed in a rented house along with Arseny Karmatsky and his wife. This arrangement allowed them to have a comfortable living space during the long tournament days. Pleshuv also shared his experiences with the Mystery Bounty tournament, which he found particularly interesting due to its unique format and dynamic gameplay. He highlighted the excitement of watching the big screen and the anticipation of the bounty payouts.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
