Poker Pro Patrik Leonard Shares His COVID-19 Experience
Poker professional Patrik Leonard has recovered from COVID-19. Leonard, a well-known poker player, trainer, and ambassador for PartyPoker, announced that he had contracted the virus and described his symptoms in detail. He mentioned that he lost his sense of taste and smell after recovering from COVID-19.
Leonard shared his experience on Twitter, describing his symptoms day by day. He reported high fever, sweating, chills, and severe fatigue. He also criticized the UK's National Health Service for lack of support and communication during his illness, stating that he received no further assistance or updates after being told to stay home.
Despite his illness, Leonard continued to play poker online. When his German colleague Domic Niksche asked about his high-stakes MTT games during his sickness, Leonard shared his monthly graph, noting the impact of COVID-19 on his gameplay. He wrote about his experience daily on Twitter using the hashtag #pokersquad, mentioning that the worst times were at night and early morning, and that he couldn't leave his home.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
