Oregon Approves DraftKings App for Betting on Past Sports Events
Oregon has made history by becoming the first state to authorize betting on past sports events with DK Replay, a new product from DraftKings. This innovative feature allows users to bet on past Major League Baseball hitting appearances in a live betting-style format. The platform uses “hundreds of thousands of historical plate appearances” and hides the result until after a pitch is “thrown,” keeping the experience engaging and unpredictable.
In the DK Replay interface, DraftKings keeps the players anonymous to the bettors. However, it lists skill tiers for gamblers to analyze before wagering on the outcome. Users have a 15-second clock between pitches to bet on whether the next pitch will be a ball, strike, or put in play. Results are immediate, allowing users to continue wagering on the current or next at-bat.
DraftKings Chief Product Officer Corey Gottlieb highlighted the unique experience DK Replay offers, stating, “DK Replay offers a new experience for our customers, allowing them to tap into the excitement of pitch-by-pitch betting in a unique historical environment.” Oregon Lottery officials confirmed that new rules for the product weren’t needed before its release, ensuring that betting outcomes are “fully transparent and auditable.”

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
