79-Year-Old Nun Admits to Embezzling $835,000 from Catholic School for Gambling
Mary Margaret Kroyper, a 79-year-old nun, worked as the director of St. James Catholic School in Torrance, California, for over 28 years. Recently, she admitted to embezzling $835,330 from the school's fund. The embezzled funds were used to pay off personal credit debts and for gambling in casinos. Kroyper attempted to launder the stolen money through electronic payment systems and withdrew funds from two main accounts of the Catholic school. The embezzlement activities were conducted from 2008 to 2018.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
