New Jersey Tightens Responsible Gaming Rules for Online Operators
New Jersey Attorney General Jennifer Davenport has teamed up with state gaming regulators to introduce and implement data-driven responsible gaming criteria for online operators. These new measures aim to strengthen consumer safeguards and ensure that operators intervene early when signs of potential problems begin to emerge.
Under the new rules, operators will appoint a specific person to oversee the new responsible gaming (RG) measures. This designated person will be responsible for implementing the requirements and ensuring that operators comply with the new criteria.
Operators must introduce play thresholds and follow up on behavioral triggers to identify patrons who may need support. The licensees would have to engage in due diligence in cases where patrons show signs of problem gambling or the potential to develop gambling-related harm, adding such people to the operator’s dedicated 'at-risk' list. Operators should not wait until a problem emerges - but act preemptively and proactively.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
