North Carolina Teacher Wins $10 Million Lottery Prize
A woman from Chatham County, North Carolina, won a $10 million prize from the North Carolina Education Lottery’s 500X The Cash ticket.
The woman, a middle school teacher from Goldston, purchased her winning $50 scratch-off ticket from the Murphy Express on New Chatham Road in Siler City.
She could choose to receive a one-time lump sum of $6 million, or collect the entire $10 million prize via annuity payments of $500,000 a year for 20 years. After taxes, the woman received $4,320,614.
The woman plans to buy her dream BMW convertible and pay for her daughter’s wedding with her winnings.
Four more top prizes of $10 million each remain in play from the 500X The Cash ticket.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
