MLB Fan Loyalty Survey: Miami Marlins Top, Oakland Athletics Bottom
The Miami Marlins ranked top of the fan loyalty survey with a loyalty score of 69.4/100. The Oakland Athletics ranked bottom of the fan loyalty survey with a score of 57.6/100. The Washington Nationals & San Diego Padres round out the top three, with respective scores of 69.1 & 68.9. The Colorado Rockies & Chicago White Sox complete the bottom three, with respective scores of 57.7 & 61.9.
Cubs fans are Chicago’s most loyal at 5th in the standings compared to the White Sox in 28th. 58% of Padres fans would name their child after a team legend, and despite being the 2nd least loyal team, 56% of Rockies fans would get a team-related tattoo. 6 in 10 LA Angels fans would miss a major social event for a playoff game, while Nationals fans attend more games than any other fanbase, with 32% attending 11+ home games and 16% attending 31+.
The survey results have shown the Marlins have stuck by their team, with 67% having never stopped watching or supporting the team because of poor performance, and almost two thirds of fans would choose a Marlins playoff game over a major social event. The fans have stuck with their team through a lengthy rebuild which saw them finish bottom of the NL East in 2025, with 53% of fans would prioritize a playoff game over a major social event and 32% attend at least 11 home games per season, almost 5x the survey average. Padres supporters have stood by their team through multiple years of inconsistency, reaching the postseason twice in the last five years. Cubs fans find themselves towards the top of the loyalty rankings and have missed four postseasons through the last five seasons, further highlighting their commitment.
The A's fans have gone through a quite noticeable rough patch over the past five years which included two 100+ loss seasons. Fans have also seen their team now relocate from Oakland to Las Vegas, with the team currently playing in West Sacramento while they wait for the Vegas stadium to be built. Just 10% of fans prioritizing a playoff game over a major social event compared to the 40% league average. Additionally, only 10% of fans spend more than $250 annually, and 0% said they would get a team-related tattoo. Supporters of the Rockies have also gone through a tough period as of late, missing five postseasons in the last five years. These struggles have continued this season, and they find themselves sat bottom of the NL West. Key figures from the survey show that only 68% of fans said they would never switch teams if another team started performing better, compared with a 95% league average. Plus, only 33% would choose a playoff game over a major social event, compared to the 40% league average. White Sox fans have had to endure a real struggle following winning the AL Central in 2021. They have since failed to reach the postseason and in 2024 they recorded the most losses in the modern era at 121. Key stats from the survey showing a lack of loyalty include; 24% of fans said they had stopped supporting or watching for a full season or more, far above the 3.1% survey average. To add, only 6% of fans would travel at least 250 miles to watch their team, and only 6% would get a t.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
