Finnish Poker Pro Miikka Anttonen Shares His Journey in New Biography
Miikka Anttonen, a Finnish poker player, has written a biography titled Once a gambler. The book is set to be released soon and covers events that partially overlap with his previously published stories on GipsyTeam from 2012-2013.
Anttonen is known for his online poker handle @chuckbasspoker. He prefers playing Multi-Table Tournaments (MTT) and enjoys the anonymity of being an unknown grinder. He has had two months where he won over $100k each, including a victory in the Sunday Brawl and a large offline tournament in Finland. His worst month involved a breakup, poor performance, and significant losses, including a World Series of Poker month without any cashes.
In 2015, Anttonen wrote his first book, Once a gambler, while continuing to play poker. He mentioned that the book required a significant amount of time and effort, and he played poker for only about 100 days that year.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
