Michigan Man Wins $500,000 with $5 Lottery Ticket

A man from Livingston County, Michigan, won $500,000 from a $5 Stampede Payout scratch-off ticket. The winner bought his ticket from the CVS at 22421 Pontiac Trail in South Lyon. He has a ritual of returning cans every Sunday morning and then using the money to buy lottery tickets.

After dinner, the lottery player discovered how lucky he was as he sat down to scratch off the tickets. This is when the fortunate man saw uncovered the $500,000 top prize from the Stampede Payout ticket. There are two top prizes of $500,000 each remaining in play from Stampede Payout.

The winner plans to pay off his house, go on vacation, and go out to dinner with friends.

I've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
