Mattress Mack Wins Record $75 Million Bet on Houston Astros
Jim McIngvale, known as 'Mattress Mack', won a record $75 million from betting on the Houston Astros in the World Series. McIngvale placed a $3 million bet on the Astros at 10-1 to win the World Series on Caesars Sportsbook's mobile app. Caesars Sportsbook paid out $30 million to McIngvale after the Astros won the World Series.
McIngvale placed another $7 million in bets with other bookmakers, including a $1 million bet with Betfred at 5-1 odds. Betfred paid out $5 million to McIngvale after the Astros won the World Series.
McIngvale's furniture store promotions promise customers double their money back if they spend $3,000 or more and his bets come in. In 2017, McIngvale refunded $10 million to customers after winning $13 million betting on the Houston Astros.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
