Leon Sturm Wins WSOP $50k Title, Secures Second Million-Dollar Payday
German online poker specialist Leon Sturm has taken down the WSOP $50k 8-handed title, earning $1,546,024. This victory marks his second million-dollar payday this month, following his win at the $10k buy-in GGPoker Super MILLION$ event, where he secured $1,518,400.
The WSOP $50k 8-handed event attracted 124 entries, creating a substantial prizepool of $5,921,000. Notable players like Jake Schindler and Daniel Negreanu failed to make the money, while others such as Justin Bonomo, Dan Smith, and Talal Shakerchi made it into the money.
Sturm's victory was hard-fought, with notable players like Alex Foxen and Seth Davies falling to him in the later stages of the tournament. Sturm's strategic play and experience in online high-stakes games proved crucial in his triumph.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
