Poker Pro Justin Bonomo Sparks Twitter Storm with Controversial Tweets
Justin Bonomo, a well-known poker player, has found himself at the center of a Twitter storm due to a series of controversial political tweets. The American poker pro, known for his left-leaning progressive views, has sparked outrage with his comments on the Hamas-Israel conflict.
Bryan Micon shared screenshots of Bonomo's tweets, which included the statement that Hamas had no other option than to kill 1,400 innocent Israeli civilians. This tweet, along with others, set off a wave of criticism from fellow poker players and fans. Doug Polk was one of the first to respond, expressing his disgust at Bonomo's stance. “This is one of the worst things I've ever seen someone in poker post online. Absolutely unbelievable that we have high stakes poker players out here explaining why murdering 1400 people was the only option.”
Jason Mo, another well-known poker player, advised Bonomo to refrain from such political discussions on Twitter, stating that it was not a productive use of his time and that it was not making a positive impact in the real world. Alex Thallo Epstein also criticized the level of discourse in the political discussion involving Bonomo, stating that it was remarkable how far people go to make excuses for Hamas and shift the blame to Israel.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
