Jonathan Jaffe Wins PokerMasters $50,000 Finale for $756,000
Jonathan Jaffe has won the PokerMasters $50,000 finale, earning $756,000. The American topped the 42-entrants strong field in the event that was to decide the overall winner of the Poker Masters who would wear the Purple Jacket. Stephen Chidwick finished second, earning $504,000.
Nick Petrangelo was the first to be eliminated from the final table, finishing in sixth place with a $105,000 prize. Chino Rheem was eliminated by Jaffe with pocket aces in an all-in confrontation. Brian Kim was eliminated by Stephen Chidwick in a preflop race. Alex Foxen was eliminated by Stephen Chidwick soon after Brian Kim.
With less than 25% of the chips in play, Stephen Chidwick, holding A9o, raised Jaffe’s limp with A3o. The flop missed both players, coming down Kd 7s Td. The turn was a brick 8c. But then the card that Chidwick was hoping we wouldn’t see—one of only three left in the deck—came down to end his chances of a double win in the prestigious series: the 3c. Jaffe breathed a sigh of relief and shook his opponent’s hand before celebrating.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
