Unbelievable Poker Hand: Weissman's Royal Flush Beats Wang's Full House
In the world of poker, witnessing an extraordinary runout is a rare occurrence. However, the hand between Joey Weissman and Michael Wang at the inaugural BetMGM Poker Championship at the Aria Resort & Casino in June 2023 is being hailed as one of the sickest runouts in poker history.
Weissman was dealt Ad-Jd and Wang had Qh-Qc. Weissman had over 10 million chips while Wang had slightly more than 2.5 million. Wang led until the river when the Queen of diamonds gave him a full house, while Weissman hit a royal flush. Joey Weissman won the tournament for $224,236.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
