Israeli Airman Accused of Using Classified Info for Prediction Market Gambling

An Israeli Air Force reservist was indicted for allegedly using classified information to profit from prediction markets. The airman allegedly received information that 2025 Israeli and US airstrikes on Iran were imminent. He passed the information to a civilian friend, who used it to trade on Polymarket, pocketing $128,000 in winnings. The airman's attorney claimed that the airman didn't know he was doing anything wrong because “everyone in the force” gambles on prediction market platforms.

The court ruled that the airman’s claims on gambling in the force weren’t relevant to the case, but the judge recommended an investigation into the issue.

I've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
