High-Stakes Poker: Victor Blom and megabanny's Epic Battles
In recent weeks, high-stakes online poker has seen intense action, with notable players making significant moves. Victor Blom, known as Izildur1, won $255.8k, including $160k from Cort 'thecortster' Kibler-Melby and the rest from Phil Ivey.
Phil Ivey also had a notable win, taking $89k in 2-7 poker. Another player, megabanny, first noticed online in early April 2015, played head-up NLHE $25/$50 and $50/$100 with notable opponents. Daniel 'dougiedan678' McOle won around $200,000 from megabanny in a nearly two-day session.
In another high-stakes battle, bajskorven87 won $235k from megabanny in a series of flips. Alex Kanu missed a chance to play against megabanny because he stepped away to get yogurt, highlighting the intense and unpredictable nature of high-stakes poker.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
