High Stakes Poker Player Loses $500K to Rogue Agent on GGPoker

NaturalNine9, a high stakes poker player, had $500,000 stolen from his GGPoker account. The player funded his account while he was in the hospital, and a rogue agent was able to access the account and request a withdrawal. GGPoker stated they are not liable for the incident, and NaturalNine9 posted his complaint on Reddit and TwoPlusTwo.

GGPoker's security team completed an investigation and found no other suspicious activity except those actioned by the agent. NaturalNine9 was asked to communicate with his agent about the incident. After a month and five days, NaturalNine9 got his $500,000 returned. The master agent of Cards88 contacted NaturalNine9 and paid him in full. The incident was caused by a rogue sub-agent who circumvented the affiliate’s own security.

NaturalNine9 was upset over his treatment from GGPoker and alleged he was asked to remove all social media postings on this matter. NaturalNine9 promised to give away 10% of his winnings from September to those who posted supportive messages. NaturalNine9 deposits large sums because he plays high stakes games.

I've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
