Harris County Police Bust Illegal Gambling Den, Seize $3,000
Police in Harris County, Texas, shut down an illegal gambling venue in Huffman after receiving tips from the public. Constable Mark Herman’s Criminal Investigation Division initiated an investigation after a tip about an illegal gambling venue in Huffman. The investigation confirmed that the venue offered gambling activities illegally.
The raid led to the seizure of illegal gambling equipment, documents, and $3,000 in suspected illegal gambling proceeds. One person was arrested for possession of a controlled substance. The suspect, who was allegedly employed as a security guard at the illegal gambling venue, did not have the required Texas state license to work as a security guard.
Constable Mark Herman addressed the case in a press release, stating that illegal gambling establishments operate contrary to the Peace and Dignity of the State of Texas and often fund serious criminal enterprises. He encouraged the public to report any suspected illegal gambling activities anonymously.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
