Global Poker Awards to Resume in 2022 After Pandemic Hiatus

The Global Poker Awards ceremony, which did not take place in 2021 due to known reasons, will resume in 2022. The resumption is possible due to improved epidemiological conditions and the gradual return of live poker.

The first two places in the Global Poker Index for 2021 were taken by Russian poker players Anatoly Zyrin and Gia Shukhutia. If the award ceremony had taken place this year, they would have received the awards.

The first Global Poker Awards ceremony took place in 2019. Joe Ingram won two awards at the 2019 Global Poker Awards in the categories 'Poker Journalist of the Year' and 'Media Content of the Year: Video'. The ceremony will take place in the PokerGO studio.

I've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
