GGPoker Postpones Two WSOP Online Tournaments Due to Technical Glitch

GGPoker has announced the postponement of two WSOP Online tournaments due to a technical glitch that occurred on July 19, 2023. The affected tournaments were $1,111 Every 1 for Covid Relief and $100 The Opener.

The technical issue was caused by an overwhelming number of players joining The Opener and other events, leading to server overload despite increased capacity. GGPoker has apologized for the inconvenience and assured players that measures will be taken to prevent future issues.

The Opener event attracted a record 29,306 players, exceeding the guarantee by nearly $700,000. Players will be compensated with tournament dollars equivalent to their buy-in, and the tournament will resume with the same chip stacks as when the connection was lost. The rescheduled event is set for July 26, 2023, at 21:30 MSK.

The Every 1 for Covid Relief tournament, a charitable event, has raised $177,378, which GGPoker will double. The rescheduled event is set for July 26, 2023, at 21:00 MSK. Additionally, GGPoker will compensate players for other affected events based on the tournament's refund policy.
