Georgia's Sports Betting Bill Fails in Senate, Next Chance in 2023
Georgia's sports betting bill failed to make it to the Senate's voting agenda. The bill to legalize sports betting in Georgia was not included in the Senate's voting agenda. The bill failed to gain sufficient support from both Democrats and Republicans. The next favorable time for launching sports betting in Georgia is 2023.
Ron Stephens, a representative from Georgia, has submitted several gambling-related bills to the Senate. Among them was his own bill on sports betting legalization and a proposal to open new gambling establishments in Georgia. However, none of these bills made it to the Senate vote.
Despite the majority of Georgia residents supporting the initiative in a referendum, the House of Representatives did not include the new bill in the voting plan, deeming it necessary to refine it further. The lack of support from the Democratic left wing and the inability of Republicans to coherently back the bill contributed to its failure.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
