Georgia Tightens Online Gambling Restrictions for Certain Citizens
The Georgian government has decided to create a special registry to restrict online gambling for certain groups of citizens. The new restrictions will primarily affect Georgian officials, state employees, and citizens receiving benefits and subsidies from the Georgian state. Additionally, those who voluntarily limit themselves from playing on online casino sites will also be included in this database.
The Georgian government will also ban online casino advertising on the internet and TV, allowing it only as sponsorship during sporting events. This move is part of a broader effort to address the issue of gambling addiction, which affects one in five citizens in Georgia, according to recent studies.
Furthermore, the government has implemented an age restriction for players under 25 years old and increased the tax rate for operators to 70%. These measures are aimed at curbing the prevalence of gambling addiction in the country.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
