Gazzano's Third Place Finish at Unibet Open Valencia
José Ramón Díez 'Gazzano' finished third in the Unibet Open Valencia poker tournament, winning 59.560€. Gazzano, representing EducaPoker and Ladbrokes, started the final day in second place in chips. José Luis Meliá, a regular player at the Valencia casino, was eliminated by Andreas Hofmann who had a pair of kings, enough to beat Meliá's KJ. Meliá took home 9.750€ for his ninth-place finish.
Thomas Thang, the president of the Danish Poker Federation, won the Unibet Open Valencia tournament, taking home 138.080€. Thang defeated Andreas Hofmann in the heads-up final. Hofmann finished second, earning 89.350€.
Gazzano's performance was notable despite facing health issues. He mentioned to his EducaPoker professors that he was feeling unwell due to stomach problems, possibly exacerbated by the nerves of his first live tournament and a poor digestion of dinner. However, he managed to recover and continue playing, ultimately finishing third.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
