Gambling Commission Suspends Licenses of BresBet and Bet St George
The Gambling Commission has suspended the licenses of BresBet Ltd and Bet St George Ltd, which operate the bresbet.com and betsgeorge.com websites respectively. The suspension is due to failures in social responsibility and anti-money laundering requirements.
The Gambling Commission will review the licenses under section 116 of the Gambling Act 2025. The regulator has reminded the license holders that they are expected to treat their customers fairly during the review and ensure that the suspension does not impact any access to player funds.
BresBet has informed customers that its website is temporarily unavailable due to the suspension. The Gambling Commission has been taking action against various operators in recent weeks and months. QuinnBet (Gibraltar) Ltd was fined £609,104 for similar shortcomings in consumer protection and anti-money laundering. Holland Park Leisure Ltd was fined £150,000 for similar issues. Evolution agreed to pay £4.75m in July for similar compliance failures.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
