Russian Poker Pro Feruell Suspects Rival of Using Bot in High-Stakes Match
Feruell is a professional poker player from Russia who plays on platforms like GGPoker and Americas Cardroom. He is known for his calm demeanor during game sessions and his outspoken nature on poker forums. In 2013, Feruell's attention was drawn to another player, Vyacheslav Karpov, also known as 'Ispolnitel'. Karpov was known for his flamboyant stories and charging young followers for his advice.
Feruell publicly accused Karpov of using a poker bot during their match. The match, which took place on PokerStars with a limit of 100/200, resulted in Feruell losing $20,000. This loss led Feruell to suspect that Karpov was using a poker bot, as he had never lost to a player of Karpov's perceived skill level.
Poker bots have become increasingly sophisticated, posing a significant threat to the online poker industry. The Bot Farm Corporation (BF Corp), a group suspected of operating a large-scale poker bot operation in Siberia, claims to want to save the poker industry rather than destroy it. The rise of poker bots is becoming a significant issue, with all major platforms claiming zero tolerance for bots but struggling to control their spread.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
