Drake's High-Stakes Gambling: Why No Poker?
Canadian rapper Drake has been making headlines for his high-stakes gambling adventures, but one notable absence is his presence at high-stakes poker tables. Despite his love for gambling, Drake has never been seen at a high-stakes poker table. This is perplexing given his endorsement deal with the crypto-friendly online casino Stake, for which he is paid $100 million per year. Stake earned $2.7 billion in revenue during 2022, a 100% increase from $1.2 billion in 2021.
Drake's absence from high-stakes poker is even more puzzling considering his history of high-stakes bets. Recently, he lost an $800k bet on Logan Paul to beat MMA fighter Dillon Danis in a boxing bout. This is just one of many high-stakes bets that Drake has lost, including those on Serena Williams and Conor McGregor. Some speculate that the infamous “Drake Curse” might be keeping him away from high-stakes poker.
Despite his love for gambling and the attention it brings, Drake has yet to make an appearance at a high-stakes poker table. Perhaps an invitation from a platform like PokerGO could change that. Only time will tell if Drake will ever join the high-stakes poker community and face off against players like Phil Ivey.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
