DraftKings and FanDuel Exit Nevada, Leaving WSOP as the Only Online Poker Operator

DraftKings and FanDuel have exited Nevada, ending hopes for new online poker entrants. WSOP remains the only regulated online poker operator in Nevada. The Nevada Gaming Control Board ruled planned prediction market products as unlawful under state law. This decision leaves WSOP as the lone regulated operator and makes any near term challenge to its monopoly unlikely.

Flutter Group CEO Peter Jackson stated that Flutter has surrendered its license in Nevada. DraftKings had a ready-made poker format but saw its Nevada window close. BetMGM had been the most mature contender on paper but let its license lapse this year after a decade of delays. BetRivers Poker has scaled quickly across several states, but Nevada remains a special case.

With DraftKings and FanDuel's exit, the path for new online poker operators in Nevada looks uncertain. The lack of online casino diminishes the commercial upside, and operators prioritize multi-vertical states. Any Nevada bid looks like a long shot, leaving players with just a single online poker option in Nevada for the foreseeable future.
