Doubles Poker Championship Premieres on GSN, WSOP Main Event on ESPN
Doubles Poker Championship, a new poker show with a unique format, premiered on GSN. The tournament features a unique format where players are divided into teams of two, switching roles at each stage of the hand. One player handles the pre-flop and turn, while the other takes the flop and river. The buy-in for each player is $50,000, with the first prize being $1,000,000.
The tournament includes 32 players, among them Phil Ivey, Tom Dwan, Phil Hellmuth, Gus Hansen, Johnny Chen, and Annette Obrestad. Lacey Jones is the host of Doubles Poker Championship, assisted by Brandon Adams and David Tuchman. The series is divided into three stages: qualifying season, semi-finals, and the final table. In the first stage, each player will play four qualifying matches with different partners each time. The top 16 players with the most points advance to the semi-finals.
Ivan Demidov was one of the main figures in the ESPN broadcast of the WSOP main event. Other notable players featured in the broadcast include Mikhail "inner" Shalamov and Petr "water" Bartagov.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
