Daniel Negreanu Backs NHL in Vegas, De Niro and DiCaprio Promote Asian Casinos
Daniel Negreanu is actively supporting the idea of creating an NHL club in Las Vegas. The poker pro has met with businessmen discussing the expansion of the NHL into Las Vegas, which would see a new ice rink open at the New York – New York casino in 2016. To convince the NHL of the venture's viability, 10,000 season tickets must be sold by March 2015. Negreanu has taken to Twitter to share details about the ticket sales, stating that only a 10% deposit is required, ranging from $150 to $900. If the team is not created, the deposit will be refunded.
Robert De Niro and Leonardo DiCaprio starred in a short film directed by Martin Scorsese titled The Audition. The film promotes two Asian casinos: Studio City in Macao and City of Dreams in Manila. The one-minute trailer features brief appearances from Brad Pitt. RollingStone reported that the film's budget was $70 million, with each actor earning $13 million for two days of work. However, a representative from Melco Crown, the company owning both casinos, did not confirm the reported sums.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
