Daniel Cates: Ready to Resume High-Stakes Poker Battles

Daniel 'Jungleman' Cates has expressed his readiness to continue his high-stakes poker match with Tom Dwan. In a recent tweet, Cates asked Dwan to continue their widely publicized but long-interrupted match, stating, "Tom Dwan, maybe instead of playing with everyone else at every game on FullTilt, you would agree to continue our match?"

Dwan responded positively, agreeing to continue the match but also reminded Cates about the money he owes. "Hey @junglemandan, sure. Also care to pay me our figure finally since I guess now we're tweeting dick things we could text?" Dwan tweeted.

Cates has won $1,251,059 in their match, which has seen 19,335 hands played out of the agreed 50,000. Cates has been focusing on self-improvement, including working on his charisma, fitness, and traveling. He mentioned that he prefers online poker over live poker due to its dynamic nature and convenience. Cates has several million dollars frozen on FullTilt and hopes to retrieve them. He is open to playing high-stakes poker matches with various players, including Victor Blom (Isildur1).

I've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
