Former Circle K manager fights for half of $12.8 million lottery prize
Details of the lottery prize dispute
The former Circle K store manager Robert Havlytsa is demanding 50% of the $12.8 million lottery prize.
The winning ticket had numbers 3, 13, 14, 15, 19 and 26 and matched the jackpot from November 24. The customer ordered tickets worth $85 but paid only $60, leaving 25 unpaid tickets, one of which turned out to be the winning ticket.
After discovering the win, Havlytsa bought the ticket, informed the corporation and proposed a 50/50 split of the prize. Circle K fired him on January 30 for violating corporate policy after 20 years of work, and then filed a lawsuit in Maricopa Court in February. The Arizona Lottery has distanced itself from the dispute, leaving the money in an account with interest and awaiting the court's decision.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
