Can You Play MTTs in Mobile Poker Apps? The Surprising Truth

Mobile poker applications have become a significant part of the online poker landscape, with platforms like PPPoker and UPoker hosting Multi-Table Tournaments (MTTs) with substantial guarantees. PPPoker and UPoker already conduct tournaments with guarantees of $500,000 and even $1,000,000.

PPPoker was one of the first to offer the ability to play tournaments, supporting SnG and MTT soon after its launch in 2016. The first freeroll tournaments attracted a wave of enthusiasts due to the ease of installing the app on a smartphone and the possibility of winning money without a deposit. In 2018, knockout tournaments with guarantees of up to $5,000 appeared on PPPoker. In 2019, the first tournaments with six- and seven-figure guarantees appeared in the applications.

One of the Brazilian clubs on the Upoker platform announced the largest tournament in the history of the application with a guarantee of $500,000. The tournament with the first seven-figure guarantee and a buy-in of $110 was announced by Brazilian clubs from the competing application PPPoker. Both tournaments took place, with the first distributing more than $600,000 and the second around $1,150,000. In Upoker, one union can now combine players from 20 clubs, and PPPoker developers have added the ability to conduct joint tournaments for several alliances at once.
