Brazil's World Cup Betting Trends: Passion, Knowledge, and High Stakes
The World Cup, a global football phenomenon, attracts not only fans but also bettors eager to test their predictions. In Brazil, the passion for football runs deep, influencing betting trends and preferences.
Brazil was one of the favourites to win the 2022 World Cup, leading to a surge in bettors. According to data from the KTO research team, Brazilian bettors demonstrated a strong understanding of leading teams and explored various betting options, with a notable trust in the Seleção, Brazil's national team. The main bet placed was match winner, indicating that more casual bettors take the opportunity to bet during the World Cup as it is the simplest bet to place.
Over two-thirds (67.23%) of all players placed their bets on the Seleção, relying on their knowledge, passion, and insights about the national team's performances. The top 10 teams, including Argentina, France, England, Spain, Portugal, Netherlands, Croatia, Morocco, and Belgium, accounted for a significant portion of the bets, with 96.58% of the total bets involving these teams. These teams not only drew attention due to their football prowess but also generated nearly half of all stakes (48.3%) placed before and during the tournament.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
