Bencb Shares Poker Insights: ICM, Emotions, and Streaming

Professional poker player Bencb recently answered a series of questions from his viewers, covering topics such as Independent Chip Model (ICM), emotional control, and streaming.

When asked about ICM situations, Bencb advises pressing opponents when your stack is larger than theirs, especially before reaching the money and before the final table. He suggests playing very aggressively and loosely in these situations, opening more hands and applying strong pressure on opponents. This strategy is particularly effective on the bubble and before each prize jump, as players are more cautious about getting eliminated.

Bencb also shared his approach to dealing with losses. He mentioned that he has been playing poker for over 10 years and has a large bankroll, which helps him manage losses. He advises taking a break from poker after a losing session, analyzing the hands, and learning from mistakes. He also emphasized that negative streaks are a part of a poker professional's journey and that accepting this makes it easier to cope with losses.

I've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
