Aria Cancels Prediction Market Conference Amid Nevada Regulatory Concerns

The Aria Resort & Casino in Las Vegas has canceled the “Predict 2026” conference, which was scheduled for Dec. 7-9. The cancellation came after parent company MGM Resorts became concerned about possible issues with the Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB).

The Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) sued Polymarket in state court in January and a judge issued a temporary restraining order against the company. The NGCB warned casinos in the state about doing business with prediction market firms in October.

Prediction markets have become direct competitors to sports betting and online gaming operators such as the BetMGM platform. The casino may have had strong reservations against hosting the conference after the NGCB warned casinos in the state about doing business with prediction market firms in October.

I've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
