Adrian Mateos: The Poker Pro Who Loves the Game and the Money
Adrian Mateos, a renowned poker player, has made a significant impact in the world of poker. He won the main tournament of WSOP Europe in 2013, marking a pivotal moment in his career. Mateos has won a total of 5 bracelets at the World Series of Poker, with his total winnings from tournaments amounting to $54 million.
Mateos' journey into poker began at the age of 16 when he first saw the game on TV. Intrigued by its complexity, he started studying the game extensively. He even bought all the available poker books and read them during school hours, much to the dismay of his teachers. His dedication paid off, and he quickly rose through the ranks, winning his first major tournament at the age of 19.
One of Mateos' favorite poker books is Every Hand Revealed by Gus Hansen, which he has read multiple times. He also won the main tournament of partypoker MILLIONS on the Bahamas, showcasing his skills on a global stage. Mateos moved to London to play poker professionally at the age of 18, and his love for the game has kept him at the top of his career. He considers poker his main priority and continues to work hard to win as much as possible.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
