Short deck (six-plus) in poker
Definition
A Hold'em variant played with a 36-card deck, with the twos through fives removed.
With fewer cards, flushes are rarer than full houses in short deck, so in most rules a flush beats a full house, and the ace can still make the low straight A-6-7-8-9. Hands run closer to each other, so there is more action.
The game became popular in high-stakes live games and online.
