The Baluga Theorem
The Baluga Theorem, formulated by Andrew BalugaWhale in 2006, suggests that a top pair with a top kicker should be significantly reevaluated after a raise on the turn. The original example from 2006 involves a situation where you are on UTG with AKo, raise 4 bb, BTN calls, and the flop is A93o. You bet the size of the pot, and your opponent calls. On the turn, a 7 comes out, creating a flush draw. You bet the pot again and receive a raise. The theorem suggests that your top pair with a top kicker is not as strong as it seems after such a raise. It advises being critical of your hand's strength and sometimes folding, as this is often the correct decision.
The Clarkmeister Theorem
The Clarkmeister Theorem states that in a heads-up situation on the river, if a fourth suited card comes out and it's your turn to act, you should bet. This theorem is situational and depends on the specifics of the hand. For example, if you are out of position, your opponent has been continuation betting on the flop and turn, and the river brings a fourth card to a flush, your donk bet in a bluff on the river generates 57% fold equity. If you bet 75% of the pot, you only need 40% folds to make this action profitable.
The Yeti Theorem
The Yeti Theorem suggests that a 3-bet on a dry flop, especially a paired one, is almost certainly a bluff. However, modern analysis shows that this theorem is no longer valid. Today, players rarely bluff 3-bet on dry or paired boards; instead, they play with strong hands regardless of the board texture.
The Zibo Theorem
The Zibo Theorem claims that no player can fold a full house, regardless of the street or bet size. This is considered unrealistic, as there are situations where folding a full house is a viable option. For example, on a board of 8877x, if you have 7x and your opponent makes a large bet, folding is a reasonable consideration, especially if your full house is the lower one.
