WSOPC Montreal 2026 Concludes with Online Qualifiers Shining in Main Event
The second edition of WSOP Circuit Montreal for 2026 featured 18 ring events and attracted nearly 8,400 entries over 10 days. The C$2,500 Main Event had a guarantee of C$2.2 million, but the total prize pool exceeded C$2.6 million with 1,022 entries. Three online qualifiers finished in the top six spots of the Main Event, constituting about 14% of the entire field. Daniel Ghionoiu won the Main Event, securing his first WSOPC ring and a prize of C$370,001.
Daniel Ghionoiu defeated Daniel Tsipris, one of the qualifiers, to seal the deal. The WSOP Super Circuit series is scheduled to take place from August 24 to September 9, with a Main Event guarantee of C$10,000,000.
This event is expected to be a massive affair, with the potential to break the huge $10M guarantee. GGPoker and GGPoker Ontario will once again be hosting online satellites, giving players a chance to secure their spots at a big discount.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
