WSOP ME Day 7: Hallert Leads, Kassouf Disqualified After Meltdown
The seventh day of the WSOP Main Event (WSOP ME) began with 57 participants, each guaranteed $165,000. The blinds were set at 100,000/200,000 with an ante of 200,000 on the big blind. The average stack was approximately 51 blinds.
Eric Afriat made a raise of 450,000 with KQ on the button, and Diego Pons defended the big blind with QJ. On the flop, Afriat hit two pairs and made a check-raise of 200,000. Pons, however, called with a gutshot, overcard, and flush blocker, making a check-raise of 750,000. Afriat called. On the turn, Pons bet 1,700,000 into a pot of 2,700,000, and Afriat folded, naming his hand.
Will Kassouf's behavior became increasingly disruptive, leading to his eventual disqualification from the remaining tournaments of the WSOP 2025. Kassouf's outbursts included complaints, insults, and mimicking other players' laughter, which prompted intervention from the floor staff. Despite warnings and attempts at reconciliation, Kassouf continued his disruptive behavior, leading to his disqualification. Kenny Haller emerged as the leader at the end of the seventh day.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
