WSOP 2022: The Eye-Watering Cost to Play Every Event Revealed

The World Series of Poker (WSOP) 2022 is set to be an exciting event for poker enthusiasts worldwide. The schedule includes 88 tournaments with buy-ins ranging from $400 to $250,000. The 88 WSOP events include 22 events with a $1,500 buy-in, 12 events with a buy-in of less than $1,000, and 13 Championship events with a $10,000 buy-in each. There are 10 events priced at $25,000 and more, and 53 re-buy events on the WSOP 2022 schedule.

The total cost to buy into each and every event on the WSOP 2022 schedule is $981,767. However, this does not include the cost of re-buys. To make it realistic, PokerNews factored in maximum re-buys with three for the unlimited re-buy events and five for the Flip & Go tournament. To play a schedule like this will cost you not a cent less than $1,849,801.

This eye-watering figure highlights the exclusivity and prestige of the WSOP events, attracting some of the biggest names in poker, including Phil Hellmuth. While it's a theoretical exercise due to the overlap between many tournaments, it's still fascinating to consider the immense financial commitment required to participate in every event.

I've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
