WSOP 2014: New Rules, Online Play, and Entertainment Await Players

The World Series of Poker (WSOP) 2014 brings several changes and new features for players. For the first time, participants from outside the USA need a second document proving their address. This new rule was announced by the official WSOP Twitter account on May 23, 2014. Seth Palanski, director of corporate communications at Caesars, confirmed that the new rule is due to stricter US laws on money laundering.

The WSOP 2014 will be the first series allowing online play at WSOP.com. Players can make deposits on WSOP.com from anywhere in the world, but must be in Nevada to play. The use of electronic devices is restricted when cards are dealt. Additional entertainment options are planned, including a zip line and a dog show. The WSOP 2014 will feature additional cashiers, new seating, and other entertainment options to enhance the player experience.

Despite the new rules and restrictions, the WSOP 2014 promises to be an exciting event with increased participation due to online satellites and earlier evening tournament starts. The main event is expected to have more participants than the previous year, with a guaranteed $10,000,000 prize for the first place.
