U.S. Casinos Smash Records with Over $5 Billion in March 2022
U.S. casinos had their best month ever in March 2022, with commercial casinos taking in over $5.3 billion, beating the previous record of $4.92 billion set in July 2021. This surge in revenue is part of a larger trend of record-breaking earnings for the casino industry.
Pennsylvania's casinos alone raked in $4.83 billion in 2021, with 16 casinos and three in the Midstate. The state has also seen significant contributions from online gaming and sports betting companies such as BetMGM Casino Pennsylvania, which has seen revenue totaling over $1 billion.
Three states hit quarterly records in terms of their quarterly intake to start 2022, with Arkansas at $147.4 million, Florida at $182 million, and New York at $996.6 million. These figures do not account for tribal casinos as they report their revenue separately, though they are expected to furnish similar numbers. The casino economy is very vibrant across the U.S but places like Atlantic City haven’t seen activity return to normal levels, that is before the pandemic swept the country.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
