Tribal Casinos Set Record with $46.2 Billion Revenue in 2025
Tribal gaming casinos in the US reported a record $46.2 billion in gross gaming revenue (GGR) in 2025, a year-over-year increase of 5.3%. This marks the fifth straight year of growth, stretching back to 2010 when excluding the COVID-19 year of 2020. The 2025 GGR is $2.3 billion more than the industry saw in 2024.
The Sacramento region, which includes California and the northern half of Nevada, finished as the biggest performer with $12.6 billion in revenue from 88 gaming operations. This region's success is followed by the Washington D.C. region, which includes properties in the south and eastern parts of the U.S. (Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, North Carolina, New York, and Connecticut) and saw revenue of $11.2 billion from 46 operations.
Despite the overall growth, the National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC) report highlights that a small number of properties dominate the revenue. The NIGC report notes that 8.6% of all the tribal casinos ended up earning 55.8% of the total revenue. Additionally, the NIGC is still without a leader, as Sharon Avery began serving as chairwoman in May 2024 but stepped down in January and the position remains vacant.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
