Tom Dwan's Big Wins and Epic Hands on Poker After Dark
Tom Dwan, a professional poker player renowned for his aggressive style, made a significant impact on Poker After Dark. During the show's initial run from 2008 to 2011, Dwan won over $1.75 million, emerging as the player who benefited the most from the series.
One of Dwan's notable hands occurred in season four when he won a $60,000 pot with a nut straight against David 'Viffer' Peat. Dwan was dealt A♠K♠ preflop while Peat had K♦9♦, and Dwan's strong hand secured the victory.
In the 2017 revival of Poker After Dark, Dwan continued his winning streak. On the opening day, he won a massive $697,100 pot against Antonio Esfandiari and Daniel Negreanu. Dwan's pocket aces held against Esfandiari's pocket kings and Negreanu's pocket queens, despite Esfandiari running the board twice. This win boosted his earnings on the program to over $2,000,000 in all the seasons he appeared.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
