Poker Pro Terence Chen Wins First MMA Fight, Victor Blom Wins Big

Professional poker player Terence Chen made a surprising transition to the MMA world, winning his first professional fight on April 31, 2012. Chen, known for his skills in limit hold'em, faced off against Alex Li in his hometown of Hong Kong. Li, who also practiced Thai boxing and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, had a slight weight advantage and preferred striking techniques over grappling.

Chen detailed his preparation and the emotional rollercoaster leading up to the fight in his blog. He described using meditation, visualization, and positive thinking to calm his nerves. Despite feeling nervous in the final hours before the fight, Chen managed to compose himself with the help of his team. The fight itself was intense, with Chen admitting he felt exhausted afterward but proud of his victory.

In the poker world, Victor Blom made headlines by winning $500,000 from Isaac Haxton in a high-stakes match. The match was unique as it was limited by the total amount of winnings and losses, not the number of hands. Blom's victory was significant, with his lead increasing from $198,438 on the first day to $281,365 by the end of the second day. The match showcased Blom's strategic prowess and ability to handle high-pressure situations.
