Ted Forrest's Extreme Weight Loss Bet and Other WSOP Highlights
Ted Forrest, known for his bold bets, has taken on an extreme weight loss challenge. He bet Mike Matusow that he could lose weight from 188 pounds to 139 pounds within a certain time frame. If Forrest loses the weight by July 15, he will win $2 million; if by September 24, he will win $1 million; otherwise, Matusow will win $150,000.
Mike Matusow reported on Facebook that Ted Forrest weighed 142.6 pounds with three days to go. Matusow's posts also mentioned that Forrest had not eaten for nine days. On July 13, Matusow updated that Forrest weighed 138 pounds, looking frail but healthy.
Jamie Gold made a significant profit from a side bet after cashing in a tournament. Gold celebrated his win by making a large raise and then folding his hand without looking at his cards, joking that he could have had a straight flush. Andy Robl shared an anecdote about Sam Grizel and Paul 'Eskimo' Clark making a side bet in the men's room during a WSOP tournament break. The Mizarhi brothers all cashed in the Main Event, with Michael Mizarhi needing a win to surpass Frank Cassella for Player of the Year.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
