Steve Wynn Fights Lawsuit Accusing Him of Acting as a Foreign Agent for China
Steve Wynn, the former CEO of Wynn Resorts, has asked a federal court to dismiss a lawsuit that accuses him of acting as a foreign agent for China. The Department of Justice (DoJ) claims that Wynn lobbied then-President Donald Trump to have wealthy Chinese businessman Guo Wengui returned to China to face corruption charges.
Wynn was ousted from Wynn Resorts in 2018 amid multiple accusations of sexual misconduct. Wynn's legal team claims that forcing him to register as a foreign agent is a violation of his constitutional rights. Wynn's legal team includes famous trial lawyer Robert Luskin, who represented Lance Armstrong.
Wynn was banned from his own properties after being forced to stand down as CEO after a “decades-long pattern of alleged sexual misconduct” was revealed by the Wall Street Journal. One of the sexual misconduct allegations stated “that Mr. Wynn in 2005 paid a $7.5 million settlement to a manicurist who told people at the time that Mr. Wynn forced her to have sex with him”. Shares in Wynn Resorts, worth around $17 billion, have tumbled nearly 20 percent since the WSJ report last month, while shares in Wynn Macau Ltd slumped around 17 percent before they were put on a trading halt on Wednesday.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
