Shaun Deeb Honors Late Friend Thayer Rasmussen with WSOP Bracelet Gift
Shaun Deeb, known for his prowess in poker, recently won his sixth WSOP bracelet in Event #27: $1,500 Eight Game Mix, earning a $198,854 payday. However, the true significance of this win lies not in the monetary prize, but in the emotional gesture that followed.
Deeb, a longtime friend of the late Thayer Rasmussen, who passed away at the age of 39, decided to give his newly won WSOP bracelet to Rasmussen's mother. This touching gesture was made during a recent Celebration of Life for Rasmussen, who was a beloved figure in the poker community.
Thayer Rasmussen, known online as THAY3R, was a member of the Waffle Crush MTT stable and was renowned for his contributions on the 2+2 forum. He won a $530 buy-in World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) tournament in 2015 for $69,825. His best live score was $356,620 after landing fifth in the $1,500 Monster Stack at the 2014 WSOP.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
